We continue to embrace place-base education, connecting our students with the place we call home!
We brought together science, art, history and wilderness exploration in a meaningful, hands-on way.
Recently, we went on a hike to explore different types of soil in our surroundings. Collected enough to be processed and use to create an color our own pinch pots (Soon, you will see the final creation).
A big thank you to the U.S. Forest Service, and especially to our wonderful Wapiti parent, Mrs. Kassy Skeen, an ecologist, who guided us on this adventure and generously shared her knowledge and expertise.

Ms. S class had fun and delicious week learning all about apples! Students explored the apple tree life cycle, pollination, and the important role bees play in helping apples grow.
They used 3D-printed apples to learn about the different parts of an apple and tasted several varieties, comparing their colors, textures, smells, and flavors.
To wrap up the week, we worked together to make homemade applesauce and enjoyed tasting our creation!

Coming from a small rural school, we are especially grateful to everyone who made it possible to welcome Mac Barnett, and award-winning children's author, to our community.
What an incredible opportunity to inspire our students and remind them that big dreams can grow from small places, and creativity and imagination can take them anywhere.

A special thank you to the Wapiti Fire Department for helping make our 9/11 Remembrance Walk so meaningful. Our students climbed 110 flights of stairs and honored those who lost their lives, firefighters, police officers, first responders, and all those helping on September 11, 2001.
Students even had the chance to carry firefighter equipment, giving them a small glimpse of the strength and courage shown that day.
Thank you for helping our students remember, honor and appreciate the heroes.
