Sunset Elementary School staff welcome you and your family to the start of the 2019-20 school year! We are committed to doing all we can to make this school year a successful experience for every single student. At the forefront of this goal is the necessity of the home and school partnership. Learning is a very complex endeavor! It involves, sharing ideas, making mistakes and attempting new and challenging experiences. Learning involves an admirable work ethic by everyone, the staff, the parent, the principal, but most importantly the student!

At Sunset, we value and challenge each student and provide opportunities for success. Instruction is based on the Wyoming Content Standards. We focus on the Park 6 Mission, Vision, Beliefs and Goals, which include equipping our students for career and college readiness as well as sustaining a positive culture. Our students well being and development, academically, socially and emotionally is at the heart of what we do.

Research and experience show us that a parent’s/guardian’s involvement in a child’s education directly relates to their success in school. To maximize your child’s success, emphasize the importance of education through the following:

  • Ensure your child is at school on time every day.

  • Attend parent/teacher conferences and school events.

  • Read with your child or encourage your child to read daily.

  • Support your child in their academic and social endeavors.

In addition, there are numerous volunteer opportunities in which you can become involved. Volunteers make a tremendous, positive impact and enrich our school. Contact your child’s teacher or the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) if you’d like to volunteer in any way.

I look forward to partnering with you to make the 2019-20 school year successful for you, our staff, and most importantly our students. Thank you for all of your support and commitment to our students. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the office at (307) 587.4279.
